Curriculum

At MDOW, learning is hands-on and rooted in the world around us. Each week, we explore a new theme that sparks curiosity and helps children make meaningful connections through play, stories, games, art, and group activities.

Our themes often reflect the changing seasons and the world children see around them. Some of our favorites include:

The Five Senses

Community Helpers

Nocturnal Animals

Pumpkins & Apples

Lifecycle of Caterpillars & Butterflies

Planting & Growing

Weather & Nature

These weekly themes create rich opportunities for exploration and discovery—whether we’re observing leaves change color, pretending to be firefighters, or watching a caterpillar transform into a butterfly.

In the fall, we also introduce a Letter of the Week. Each week, children learn about a new letter through songs, stories, and activities. Our alphabet journey wraps up in early spring with the letter Z—and we celebrate with a special Zebra Day!

Through it all, MDOW’s play-based curriculum supports each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development—preparing them not only for school, but for a lifetime of learning.
